Tables

The Italian word table derives from the Latin tabulam, meaning wooden board. Before humanity became civilized enough to place it on a stand, the table in its most basic form is said to have simply been a wooden plank resting on legs at mealtimes or when working. Today there are numerous different variations of tables that can be combined with other furniture: dining tables, coffee tables, desks, coffee tables and bedside tables, just to list a few examples.
